Abu Dhabi - Sky News Arabic
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the life of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych was in danger as a result of the "revolution" that began to seize power in Kiev.

The news agency Interfax reported Putin as saying in remarks videotaped addressed to admit Russia to the Crimea "For us, it has become clear and we have received information that there were plans not only to arrest him, but physically liquidated by those who carried out this coup."

The mass protests on Yanukovych's decision to retreat from a trade agreement with the European Union and rapprochement with Moscow had ousted him from power in February of last year, fled to Russia.

Interfax quoted Putin as saying that saving the lives of Yanukovych and his family were "good work."

Putin has not been seen in public or in a live broadcast on television since the fifth of March, sparking a wave of sarcasm on the Internet but there are officially determined that the business is going naturally in the Kremlin.
